Translations of amounts from HK$ into US$ are solely for the convenience of the reader and were calculated at the pegged rate of US$1 = HK$ 7.8, being the mid-point of the convertibility zone of US$1 = HK$7.75 to 7.85. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority provides convertibility undertaking, under which the authority commits to sell Hong Kong dollars upon request by banks at the strong-side of US$1 = HK$7.75 and to buy Hong Kong dollars upon request by banks at the weak side of US$1 = HK$7.85, as to maintain currency stability of the Hong Kong dollar at around US$1 = HK$7.80.
