Item 8.01 Other Events. On August 1, 2024, CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC ("Houston Electric"), an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of CenterPoint Energy, Inc. (the "Company"), announced that it is withdrawing both its application with the Public Utility Commission of Texas ("PUCT") requesting authority to change rates and charges for electric transmission and distribution service (Docket No. 56211) ("general rate case") filed with the PUCT on March 6, 2024 and its application for approval of its transmission and distribution system resiliency plan (Docket No. 56548) ("system resiliency plan") filed with the PUCT on April 29, 2024, in order to focus on addressing the impacts of Hurricane Beryl in its service territory and accelerating preparedness and resiliency efforts for the remaining storm season. As previously disclosed, Houston Electric was previously granted abatements of both its general rate case and system resiliency plan applications in July 2024. Houston Electric expects to complete a broader assessment of additional system resiliency opportunities and would intend to refile a subsequent system resiliency plan.
